Challenge

Skincare tracking apps either over-quantify (every metric, every day) or under-deliver (a glorified habit checker). Dermlab needed enough structure to surface real patterns over weeks and months, while keeping daily logging short enough that users would actually do it.

1. 01Step

   Routine model

   Designed a data model that captures the routine without forcing users to break it down into 12 fields — products in, observations out, the rest inferred.

2. 02Step

   Visual identity

   Illustrated the brand and interface aesthetic — soft, clinical, calm — to keep the app feeling like a record, not a diagnostic tool.

3. 03Step

   Flows

   Designed the daily log, weekly review, and longer-trend views so each one has its own pace and purpose, instead of one screen trying to do all three.

Outcome

A skincare app users keep up with, with enough underlying structure to show real changes over time.
